The song plays with the words "atriz" (="actress"), "triz" (as in "por um triz"="by a hairbreadth") and "Beatriz" (a female name which contains the two previous words).
At the beginning, when it's asked "Is she a girl", it's meant "is she a young girl/woman"?
I preferred translating "da atriz" into "of The actress" rather than "of An actress".
That's because while the song isn't about a particular woman or actress, it's not about "actresses" either.
It's about unattainable love.
The actress is a metaphor for the love he can't reach.
So it's not actresses what we're talking about here. It's The Actress.
