Brynhild’s Ballad
Will you now listen
whilst I will sing.
About the rich kings
that I will now speak of.
Greyfell brought gold from the heath,
he hew his sword in rage,
Sigurd slew the serpent,
Greyfell brought gold from the heath.
Fafnir is the name of the dragon1
that lies on the Glittering Heath
Regin is a good blacksmith
to few is he faithfull
- 1. serpent/snake/worm

So I combined several sources here to make for, what I believe to be, the best translation. Each verse is literally taken from a different source, and I even changed/added a few things within some verses. One would be from the full English version here. Another, from Regin Smiður which is also performed by Týr and could be found here. And the last, from an unknown source here.
All versions of this ballad are taken from the Völsunga saga, following the story of the legendary hero - Sigurd.
