Words from the refrain are from runic inscription DR239.
"þistill, mistill, kistill" can be translated as: thistle, mistletoe, little chest. It is probably somekind of a runic spell written as þmk:iii:sss:ttt:iii:lll.
"njót vel kumls" can be roughly translated as: make a good use of a monument/shrine.
"ek setta rúnar rétt" means: I have placed the runes rightly.
"þræll, Karl, Jarl" are three "castes" of Viking age Scandinavia. þræll were slaves, Karl the freemen and Jarl the noblemen.
