Bathory? *blush*

Thanks for this list, it looks promising for more new music! How are you enjoying the Icelandic?

Arou_Arou_    Fri, 02/02/2018 - 22:22

I have to admit I haven't really done anything in the way of Icelandic since we last talked about it, but I haven't forgotten about it. :)

david.winlodavid.winlo    Tue, 06/02/2018 - 21:40

Cool - what languages are you doing, if you don't mind me asking? It's always interesting to see where other people's interests lie, and keen linguists (or indeed, linguists - I blame the poor way they're handled in schools) are hard to come by in my country! :')

Arou_Arou_    Sun, 28/01/2018 - 16:08

I was surprised to find Fever Ray's "If I had a heart" on the list, but after listening to it, I understand a little better why. :)

Arou_Arou_    Sun, 28/01/2018 - 20:55

Oh, I had no idea.

Yeah, thursatrú is pretty niche, don't really know any thursatrian songs besides that artist.

ScieraSciera    Tue, 20/02/2018 - 18:26

Afaik, Thursatrú tends to be not often recognized among general heathenry, but I'm not active in the pagan community normally, so I can't tell whether that can be generalized.

I think all practitioners of Thursatrú I so far encountered identified as LHPers, i.e. following a heterodox spiritual path (which makes sense considering the general reputation of the thurses in Norse mythology), and at least some not necessarily as heathens/pagans.

I mean, there are also self-identifying LHPers who work with the Æsir (e.g. the lyricist of Ironwood whom I mentioned above if the band name is any hint, I read his weblog a while ago), but thursatrú is basically reverse-asatrú, so it's not surprising that that is rather shunned.

Added a "few" more, I dont expect them all to be added, but I think they all are worthy of consideration.
I let you work with the list, but if you ever feel like you need more suggestions let me know and I be happy to provide some.
I will also try to add missing videos, provide translations etc if you need that too.

Good calls! This might need some subcollections eventually.

Since the author of this collection is gone, I asked for permission to mods to add myself as a collaborator, and filled in the missing spots (removing a few songs which were wrongly accredited as "viking inspired"). The collection is now full, so I'll open a part 2.
